Website Request

The Okanagan content management system (OK-CMS) is currently reserved for campus-wide, executive, faculty/dept, and executive-endorsed websites where the builds are led by the relevant portfolio communicator.

Research projects, initiatives or lab sites

These sites are currently ineligible for the OK-CMS. However, there are some great self-serve options to support these types of requests. Both systems are very user-friendly and a handful of approved plugins to help extend site functionality.

UBC CMS (recommended)

  • Free, self-serve WordPress installation through CTLT at UBCV
  • Includes UBC CLF (header, footer and standard CLF styles)
  • Uses the Gutenberg (or Block Editor), if site created after November 2019
  • Uses your own custom URL with Domain Mapping

UBC Blogs

  • Free, self-serve WP
  • Does not include UBC CLF. Instead, you select from 20+ themes to apply to your site
  • Custom domains not available. Your site must start with the blogs.ubc.ca domain
